Seven Spoons

Seven Spoons by Tara O'Brady is an extensive book. Almost every recipe starts with a paragraph, and the instructions for the recipes are detailed. The recipes look and sound delicious, but there is so much text to each recipe I would not say that it is inviting. The recipes are almost intimidating.

Citrus by Valerie Aikman-Smith and Victoria Pearson has delicious looking beverages, I can't wait to try them. I think I will pull this out anytime I have too many lemons or limes. Definitely a good addition to anyones cookbook library.

Martha Stewart's Appetizers is an amazing book for entertaining! She will have something simple such as deviled eggs or wings - and then give you four different ways to make them! There are pictures for all the recipes too. This book is a must have for my age group late 20's early 30's (because if I am coming to your house for a get together I would like for some of this to be served, yes please, and I know my friends are waiting anxiously for me to make some).

Safe House by Joshua Straub, PhD is an easy to read parenting book with deep thought provoking questions regarding your family experience and how you want to parent your children. Joshua Straub provides an in depth look at his own experiences which help the reader see him as a nonjudgmental figure. He includes humor in his own stories which I enjoyed! I would definitely recommend this book to others. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Great Bedtime Bible for Little Ones!

My Bedtime Story Bible for Little Ones by Jean E. Syswerda is a beautiful book for children. The book itself is a board book with a slightly padded outer cover. Each Bible story is about two pages long and ends with the characters going to sleep, followed up with either a prayer or a small visual type activity. The book is very calming and my 4 year old son does enjoy reading it (he asks for more stories if I only read two out of the book). There are eight Bible stories total in the book. I would recommend this book to any parent for their young ones.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Playing the game Punderdome with my older sister and mom was a barrel of laughs. We are coming from three different generational eras and all had a good time coming up with our own puns. My older sister and I were in quite the competition to win! However, my mom had a hard time creating puns even with the examples. We would all definitely play again. Punderdome was created by daughter-father duo Jo and Fred Firestone. Not only was it an interesting game, but also a great way to exercise your brain as well.  I received this game from Blogging for Books for this review.

Unfortunately, When God Made You by Matthew Paul Turner was not a hit with my five and a half year old son. He listened throughout the story, but at the end when I asked if he liked it he said no. I really enjoyed the read, but my son did not. I think the words were hard for his age to understand. Throughout the book many pages were at his level. Also, even though I enjoyed the illustrations; my son was not pleased. Perhaps the images and concept were too abstract. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review. Tim Tebow is a great role model for young and old alike. Although I am not a home-schooled student, I find any book with a roadmap and activities helpful. I found Tim Tebow’s book inspirational and informative, using his own experiences and religious beliefs to help us. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

How to Think by Alan Jacobs is a book that I enjoyed, even though anyone who saw me reading it questioned why I need a book on how to think. Or they asked me if I was unable to think on my own and needed a book to guide me. The author impressed me with his writing, he did not come across pretentious at all and simply wanted to open the readers mind with the information he presented. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
